The Vernee Mix 2 ships in a white flat square box, there is no wrap and no seal on the box, just the Vernee brand name and phone’s model are written on top and by the side of the box. To open the box, you will have to slide the top cover of the box upward.
You will find the Vernee Mix 2 device as soon as you pull the top cover…
Vernee Mix 2 Box Components
Going further into the box, you will see a USB fast charger, USB type 2.0 cable, two screen protectors (one for the back glass and one for the screen), transparent phone case, an ejector pin and off course the user manual, there is no earphone in the box.
Vernee Mix 2 Design and Impressions
The Vernee Mix 2 feels comfortable at hand and also quite heavy, the build quality on the device is nothing short of superb. The 2.5D curved reflective glass at the back makes the phone a joy to hold.
The smartphone comes with a pre-installed screen protector, at the back is just the descriptive sticker that you will have to pill off before installing back glass protector.
The company had better installed the back glass protector by themselves, many people will experience some difficulties with doing that on their own just like I did. There were still some air bubbles after I pasted the glass protector.
Front top bezel of the Vernee Mix 2 is occupied by a proximity sensor, call receiver and the notification indicator. The 8MP camera is the only thing you’ll find at the bottom bezel as the devices uses an on-screen navigation keys.
Only the 3.5 mm Audio jack is located at the top border of the device.
The bottom border is dominated by microphone hole on the left, loud speaker grills on the right and the USB port at the center.
The SIM/Memory card tray (which you can open with the ejector pin) is located on the left side border of the phone, the SIM tray can hold 2 nano SIMs and a Micro SD card but not at this time, the device uses SIM 1 slot as SD card space. On the left border are the the volume rockers and the power button.
The glass at the back is very reflective, dual 13MP and 5MP cameras with single LED flash sits on top of the back panel, just below the camera region is the centrally positioned fingerprint scanner.
At the price of 57,000 Naira (160 USD), the Vernee Mix 2 is definitely a steal. Despite having a 6.0 inches screen, the phone’s handling was very confident, thanks to the full-view display. A basic 6.0-inch smartphone has a dimension of; Height: 160.35 mm and Width: 83.46 mm, but the Vernee Mix 2 has a dimension of; Height: 157.8 mm and Width: 57.7 mm.
I’m a bit bothered about the glass back which can shatter on heavy falls, or get scratched when the glass protector or the protective rubber case is not in use.
