Alcatel 1 has now become the lowest-end smartphone in the Alcatel‘s line up, no longer the Alcatel 1x. The Alcatel 1 device was spotted in Russia with no news regarding its official launch date or it’s price tag but it is expected to have a low price tag of below $100 (Below N36,000).
Just like the 1x, the Alcatel 1 also runs on Android Oreo (Go Edition), which will be considered as very commendable given the low-end specs at hand. The Alcatel 1 is a 5-incher with 480 by 960 pixels resolution and 18:9 touchscreen, The device is powered by the MediaTek MT6739 SoC, that has a 1.3 GHz quad-core Cortex-A53 processor.
On-board is just 1GB of RAM and 8GB worth of expandable storage, which you should find barely workable with the special Go apps suite that takes up less space than you’d expect. A 5 MP rear camera is place with LED flash, and on the front side is a 2 MP camera (neither with autofocus). For powering the Alcatel 1 device, 2,000 mAh battery sits in the power house.
Another good part of this phone is that it comes with LTE connectivity, although only up to Cat.4 (150Mbps down, 50Mbps up), GPS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and dual-SIM functionality. Its dimensions are 137.6 x 65.7 x 9.8 mm and it weighs 134g. The alcatel 1 will be available in gold, blue, and black color variants.
