The Asus ROG Phone 2 has just passed through TENAA, China’s certification agency, revealing a preliminary specifications sheet. This upcoming gaming phone, the successor to last year’s Asus ROG Phone, is set to ship with the newly announced Snapdragon 855 Plus chipset, the first phone to do so.
On the site of the certification agency, four models of the ROG Phone 2 were spotted. These models have code names ASUS_I001DA, I001DB, I001DC, and I001DD.
The design of the Asus ROG Phone 2 is seen to be slightly more refined than last year’s model’s. It has dimensions of 170.99 x 77.6 x 9.78 mm.
The gaming phone comes with a massive 6.59-inch display with an aspect ratio of 18:9. It has a refresh rate of 120Hz. It has quite slim top and bottom bezels. On the rear of the device is a dual-camera setup with a dual-LED flash. No physical fingerprint reader can be seen on the rear. This means that we will likely have an under-display fingerprint sensor.
The Asus ROG Phone 2 will be powered by a 5,800mAh battery. This is quite huge and should be able to last long enough for you to enjoy long gaming sessions. You can also expect the phone to ship with a 30W fast charger.
The official announcement of the Asus ROG Phone 2 is just around the corner. It will be launched on Tuesday, 23rd July. This means that we will have details of availability and pricing very soon.
