Lets now unbox and see what lies in store, the box is quite compact with no wrap and no seal (that “do not accept if seal is broken” ish), so to reveal the content of the box, you will need to slide the top cover of the box upward.
Sitting comfortably on top of the box, Gretel A9 is the first thing you see once the box is open
Gretel A9 Box Components
Before we head over to design and impressions of the new A9, lets quickly go through what we saw further in the box.
The box also contains some accessories; a charger, a USB cable, screen guide, transparent phone case, an ejector pin and off course the user guide, there is no earphone in the box.
Transparent rubber phone case and a protective screen guide
The Gretel A9 USB cord and charger. The charger is branded “Switching Adapter”
The last of the useful contents of the box; the ejector pin.
Gretel A9 Design and Impressions
After we have gone through the box components, its time to check out the design and impressions of the Gretel A9 device.
Lets start by peeling off the descriptive sticker covering the screen of the phone… It even comes with a screen guard pre-installed!
… and another transparent sticker that covers the rear of the phone
Totally free of its box and sticker, this is what the back of the Gretel A9 looks like… It looks and feels sleek, don’t you think so?
The front top bezel of the device is occupied by the 5MP camera with a soft flash and the proximity sensor
The navigation keys dominate the lower bezel, fingerprint sensor is embedded in the home button.
The USB port and audio jack are located at the top of the phone
The microphone hole is left alone at the bottom right of the phone
With the aid of the ejector pin, we opened the SIM/Memory card tray located on the right side of the phone just above the power button, the volume adjustment keys are located at the left side. The SIM tray can hold 2 nano SIMs and a Micro SD card but not at this time, the device uses SIM 1 slot for SD card space.
The Gretel A9 is priced within the range of ₦31,000 – ₦35,000 (80 USD)
With its attractive black color, curvy and slim border and contrasting wide dark screen, the Gretel A9 is sleek, definitely. I find the inclusion of a clear rubber case and a spare screen guide particularly impressive too, despite having a screen guide pre-installed on the device. The absence of earpiece in the box was a little disappointing but that not withstanding, what was your impression about the Gretel A9 phone, drop your comments below.
