Huawei is no longer a new player in the smartphone market. In fact, it is currently one of the biggest smartphone makers in the world. This year, the Chinese company has launched the P20 and P20 Pro flagships, and we are still looking forward to the launch of the Mate 20 and its Pro version. These devices are expected to be unveiled along with the Mate 20X in a launch event in London on October 16.
Of course, ahead of launch, there are usually leaks of the specifications of devices. These leaks make the rounds even more when the launch event is close. The Mate 20 Pro has now been leaked in detail.
The Mate 20 Pro is said to come in a number of RAM variants with options of 6GB or 8GB of RAM. The details of the device were leaked by German website WinFuture.de.
According to WinFuture.de, the Huawei Mate 20 Pro will come with a 6.39-inch QHD+ OLED display with a resolution of (1440×3120 pixels). This means that the device will likely offer a better experience than its predecessor, the Mate 10 Pro which came with a full-HD+ display with 1080×2160 pixels.
The Mate 20 Pro will be powered by the HiSilicon Kirin 980 chipset, coupled with Mali-G72 GPU. It will come in two RAM variants – 6GB of RAM and 8GB of RAM. The device is said to have a triple-camera setup on the rear. The report has it that the setup could feature a 40MP primary camera with an f/1.8 aperture, a 20MP secondary camera with an f/2.4 aperture, and an 8MP ultra wide-angle sensor. The primary sensor is said to be able to combine four pixels into one for better results. On the front may sit a 24MP camera with a Vertical Surface Emitting Laser (VSEL) module which could enable 3D facial recognition like Apple’s Face ID. The phone is also reported to have an in-display fingerprint sensor, just like the Mate 20.
The Huawei Mate 20 Pro is said to be powered by a 4,200mAh battery and supports a SuperCharge technology. This will be aided by a 40W charger that will reportedly get the battery from zero to 70 percent in just 30 minutes. In addition, the device will support wireless charging.
Connectivity options on the Mate 20 Pro are expected to include high-speed LTE access, Bluetooth v5.0, NFC, and Gigabit WLAN with dual-band support. The device is expected to run Android 9.0 Pie with EMUI 9.0 on top out of the box.
The report from WinFuture.de also suggests that the Mate 20 Pro will come with Huawei’s proprietary “Nano Memory Card” format. The Nano Memory Card is said to come in the size of a nano-SIM.
The report from WinFuture.de does not reveal the price of the Huawei Mate 20 Pro. However, with the launch only a few days away, the price could leak at any time. Surer leaks are also expected to come up in the next couple of days before the launch. The Mate 20 Pro will come in four color variants which include Black, Blue, Green, and “Twilight”.
