Huawei introduced the Mate X in March, after many months of speculation. The Chinese smartphone giant then put the device up for pre-order in October. The Mate X has finally gotten its first flash sale, and it was indeed a big success.
It is either the demand was just too high or Huawei stocked very few units of the Mate X. The device sold out in a matter of minutes. This is huge, considering the fact that the Mate X comes with a price tag of CNY16,999 (roughly 877,000 Naira).
The Huawei Mate X comes with a foldable screen that transforms into two screens. When folded, the device has a 6.6″ display in front and a 6.38″ display at the back. The unfolded screen stands at 8″.
The device comes powered by the Kirin 980 chipset, coupled with a 5G modem. It comes with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage, expandable by 256GB using the proprietary NM memory card.
The Huawei Mate X is powered by a 4,500mAh battery and has 55W fast charging support. It is of note that the device was put on sale without Google Apps.
There will be another flash sale for the Huawei Mate X come November 22.
