Huawei smartphone users, get in here!

The Taiwanese OEM is now pushing the Android 8 Oreo update to users of its P10 and P10 Plus units. There was an official announcement to this effect on the company’s official Facebook page. This video post was put on the Philippines page of the Android OEM, signalling that this may be the region where the rollout will start from. However, we know the update should gradually spread to units in other regions.

The Android 8 Oreo for the Huawei P10 line-up will come with the new EMUI 8.0 skin, which is the company’s in-house adaptation of the Oreo build. This is after a very long beta testing stage with which the company evened out the rough edges and certified the build was stable enough before final rollout.

Being an OTA update, we understand that it might take a while before it starts to hit your device. Should you be impatient and want to force it though, you can simply go to the Settings menu and tap on your System Update feature. You should be able to get the notification pop up in your status bar then
