Huawei Y9 Prime (2019) comes into the Nigerian market; sports an auto pop-up selfie camera

Huawei Y9 Prime (2019)

Huawei has unveilled the Huawei Y9 Prime (2019), the latest device in the Y series. Earlier this year, the Chinese company released the Huawei Y9 (2019) and here comes the 2019 version of the Prime. What’s more, this device is available in the Nigerian market.

The Huawei Y9 Prime (2019) comes with a ton of features that you would expect in a premium phone in 2019. Not only does it come with an improved display, it sports an auto pop-up front camera.

Here’s some information about this stunning device.

This stunning device boasts a massive 6.59-inch Ultra FullView Display that comes with no notch. It has a resolution of 2340×1080 and an aspect ratio of 19.5:9. Sporting a 91% screen-to-body ratio, it offers you an ample display for your activities.

The display is also capable of authentic and rich colours with a wide colour gamut of 85%. To protect your eyes, the device offers TUV Rheinland’s certified Low Blue Light Eye Protection. The screen intelligently adjusts brightness and colour temperature while filtering out harmful blue light emissions. In fact, the screen brightness can be brought down to 2 nits under low-light conditions.

The Huawei Y9 Prime (2019) is divided into thirds by design. The top third houses the device’s triple camera and fingerprint sensor. The bottom two-thirds has a minimalistic look with a darker hue.

This stunning device, with its 6.59-inch bezel-less display, is still comfortable to hold. Having a 3D Arc Design that makes it shine like glass and still being shatter-resistant, it is both beautifully designed and quite rugged.

The Huawei Y9 Prime (2019) sports a triple camera setup on the rear with a 16MP sensor (with an f/1.8 aperture), an 8MP sensor (with a 120-degree field of view), and a 2MP sensor. Both the 16MP and the 8MP sensors feature a 6P (six-lens plastic array) design that captures more photons and reproduces the little details within an image. This makes the phone produce images with good over quality.

The device’s camera setup has a beautiful Night Mode with AI Stabilisation for low-light photos and videos. This AI Stabilisation helps in shooting Super Slow-Motion videos at 480fps.

The front camera comes in an auto pop-up setup. This is as opposed to the commonly seen setups in which the front camera is housed in the bezel or notch.

Huawei did away with bezels and the notch in the Y9 Prime (2019) but rather decided to hide the front camera sensors in the auto pop-up setup. This means that the front camera only appears when it is needed. Once the camera app is opened and selfie mode is selected, the front camera automatically pops up out of the top of the phone. The phone also includes an intelligent protective feature that causes the lens to retract when a free fall is detected.

The Huawei Y9 Prime (2019) is powered by the Kirin 710 SoC and promises a super smooth performance. The Kirin 710 chipset is reportedly about 30% faster than its predecessor, and it is also said to perform better in battery saving.

This slick device runs Android 9.0 with the EMUI 9.0 which is said to enable a more optimised user experience by learning user behaviour. For better memory management, the Huawei Y9 Prime (2019) is optimised by Flash-Friendly File System (F2Fs) 2.0 and Extendable Read-Only File System (EROFS).

The Huawei Y9 Prime (2019) comes with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. This internal storage can be expanded via a memory card up to 512GB.
