Huawei’s HongMeng OS could launch on 9th August at the Company’s Developers Conference

Huawei HongMeng OS

It is no longer news that Huawei is currently working on releasing its own operating system. This new OS – HongMeng OS – is expected to be a competition to both Android and iOS.

It appears that the company, whose sales slumped as a result of the recent US crisis, is planning to announce HongMeng OS at its global Developers Conference which is scheduled to hold on 9th August in China.

This is not much of a surprise considering the fact that sometime in May, the company’s Head of Consumer Business, Richard Yu, mentioned that the OS could be ready by fall in China this year. Recently, the Company’s CEO, Ren Zhengfei, said that HongMeng OS would likely be faster than both Android and iOS.

The Huawei Global Developers Conference is a very important event for the company, and over 1,500 partners and 5,000 global developers are expected to be there in this year’s edition. The Conference will definitely be a great platform to make the announcement.

Richard Yu has said that HongMeng OS is not just built to run on smartphones, but on tablets, computers, televisions, cars, and smart wearable devices as well. He further revealed that the OS will be compatible with Android apps and web applications.

The Huawei Global Developers Conference will hold in Songshan Lake, Dongguan, from 9th to 11th August. More information about HongMeng OS will likely be released before then. We will keep you updated as soon as we get more information.
