The LG V40 will be LG’s successor to the LG V30, and the company seems ready to please its users once again with a few important features. As with many new phones before their launch dates, there have been a number of leaks of this sleek device.
The LG V40 has the codename LG Storm Plus, and a leaked spec sheet of the device has confirmed a number of the rumors flying about. One of the most interesting is the presence of five cameras on the device.
Here are some of the specs from the leaks:
- 4-inch QHD + POLED notched FullVision display with 19.5:9 aspect ratio.
- 10nm Snapdragon 845 SoC.
- 6GB RAM.
- 64/128GB internal storage.
- 8GHz Kryo 385 + 4×1.7GHz Kryo 385 processors.
- Adreno 630 GPU.
- Triple rear camera setup (12MP lens + 16MP wide-angle lens + 12MP optical zoon lens).
- Dual front camera setup (8MP + 5MP).
- Fingerprint, Face, and Voice unlock.
- 3,300mAh battery.
The above specifications of the LG V40 are generally what is being obtained in 2018 flagships, although the 3,300 battery may be a bit of a disappointment to some people. It appears that LG favours slimmer phones than the added bulk that a bigger battery might add.
The triple rear camera and dual front camera of the device means that it is probably a camera-centric device. Of course, users who love taking photos with their smartphones may find this very useful.
With the notch at the top of the device, some people will not be pleased. However, considering the whopping 6.4-inch display size, the screen is still generally big enough.
LG V40 Release Date
LG V40 is set to be launched in early October, 2018, along with some flagships from other companies. The Huawei Mate 20, for example, is expected to launch around the same period. Same with the Google Pixel 3 and the OnePlus 6T.
The price of the LG V40 is not yet confirmed, but it will likely be in the range of the price of the other flagships to be launched around the same time.
