Huawei Mate 20 Leak Shows 3D Face Unlock And In-Screen Fingerprint Scanner

Huawei Mate 20 Pro Front Panel Leak

The Huawei Mate 20 is the upcoming flagship from the Chinese company, and a lot of fans are eagerly waiting for its release. As with the wait for the release of other flagships, there have been leaks of what the phone will look like. The latest leak apparently confirms some rumors that have been flying around about the Mate 20.

The key highlights of the leak are a 3D face unlock and an in-screen fingerprint scanner. These features are quite prominent on the new leak. However, the images make it unclear whether it is the Mate 20 or the Mate 20 Pro that we are dealing with. Either way, Huawei is cooking something very interesting.

The images suggest that the phone is the Mate 20. But if the curved design and high-end specs are anything to go by, it could very much be the high-end Mate 20 Pro. Knowing Huawei, the company tends to keep its most sought-after features for the Pro versions. This is the main reason why it is believed that the leak might actually be for the Mate 20 Pro.

One thing is almost for sure though; the Mate 20 line-up is set to have a notch at the top of the device, just like the P20 Pro.

The Mate 20 (Pro) will likely be powered by Huawei’s upcoming Kirin 980 processor. In addition, it will likely come with a triple camera setup on the rear. This is also much like the P20 Pro. The new deal here is that Huawei may actually replace the 40-megapixel sensor with a 42-megapixel sensor on the Mate 20 Pro.

The predecessor of the Mate 20 Pro, the Mate 10 Pro, has an all-glass and metal body with a fingerprint scanner mounted at the rear. It enjoys a 6-inch edge-to-edge bezel-less OLED screen with an aspect ratio of 18:9. Powered by Huawei’s Kirin 970 processor, it enjoys 6GB or RAM and 128GB of internal storage. The phone is powered by a 4,000mAh battery with fast charging, and comes with Android Oreo-based EMUI 8.
