OnePlus 7 and 7 Pro gets Android Q beta update, source code revealed

The OnePlus 7 and 7 Pro have barely launched, and the company behind them has already made a move to release Android Q beta update to them. This was officially announced via the company’s forums yesterday, and you can now get it if you happen to have any of both units at hand currently.

We should let you know at this stage that the whole point of this being a beta update is that it is not stable yet. If what you were expecting is an OS that would be as rock stable as possible, you might want to wait till the official version gets out.

In fact, OnePlus itself has detailed a handful of instabilities such as:

  • System stability
  • Ambient display
  • Inability to send SMS when VoLTE is on
  • Loss of operation of Recovery Mode, and so much more.

Likewise, OnePlus has revealed the source code for this beta update like they always do. This will help third-party developers come up with custom ROMs of their own too. Everything seems interesting once again, doesn’t it?
