Some time ago, the Redmi 8 passed through Chinese Certification Agency TENAA. On the listing, we saw some of its key specifications. Now, the device has appeared in live pictures.
Not only do the live pictures show us the design of the phone, but they also confirm some specifications. We have now confirmed that the phone will ship with the Snapdragon 439 SoC and run MIUI 9.7.11 on top of Android 9 Pie.
Design-wise, the Redmi 8 comes with a 6.21″ HD+ display with a waterdrop notch. This notch houses the selfie camera. On the chin, the company branded the name “Redmi”. The casing of the device in the live picture appears to be made of polycarbonate. It features reflective red hues.
The Redmi 8 has a vertically-aligned dual-camera setup on the rear. This setup features a 12MP sensor and an 8MP sensor. There is also a fingerprint sensor there.
The device comes with 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage. It is powered by a 5,000mAh battery.
We expect the announcement of the Redmi 8 soon, at a company event rumoured to take place in September.
