When Tecno was in the full gear of its Spring launch, they made the introduction of a device that we have now come to know as the Tecno F3. This is following the launch of the device’s little brothers – Tecno F1 and Tecno F2.
As the naming convention suggests, this F3 would be the one that offered the best specs of the trio. Quite frankly, Tecno did keep to its promise of continually bringing the latest specs to a diverse range of markets.
Featuring the latest 18:9 aspect ratio and a ton of specs to make the average midrange market swoon, here is what the Tecno F3 or Tecno POP 1, as others may prefer to call it) brings on board

Tecno F3 Features Overview
We don’t usually expect much on a device that is meant to fall in the lower midrange market. However, starting with as much as a 5.5-inch screen is something that got our attention with the Tecno F3. We then found out that the screen packs a resolution of 960 x 480 pixels for good display ouput.
We don’t need to tell you that you should not expect a bezel-less screen. However, we are impressed with how Tecno has managed the bezels on the top and bottom to ensure the screen has the best real estate for this price point. For the top bezels, the ambient light sensor, earpiece and 5MP selfie snapper make for a familiar setup on the Tecno F3.
What is not regular is the selfie flash light that Tecno put on the front for better capturing in dark places.
Switching to the back, we were greeted with a plastic covering. The good news is that the plastic here comes with better aesthetics than the one we saw on the other devices in the Tecno F series for this year. At the very top of the plastic is a horizontal setup of a 5MP camera and its own LED flash. To be candid, Tecno could have packed a bigger sensor for the F3 (POP 1) main camera.
Leaving the outside for a bit, we dive into the insides where we get 1GB of RAM on 8GB of storage. Should the user want more space, they can expand it with a dedicated microSD card slot that can take as much as 32GB.
No matter what choice the user makes, they will get a quad-core processor that can clock as high as 1.3GHz when tasked to the maximum. Running Android 7 Nougat out of the box, Tecno F3 users will be treated to the premium offering for this year and all it brings on board.

The Tecno F3 rounds off with a 2400mAh battery expected to keep the lights on for this 3G-enabled piece of hardware.
Tecno F3 price and availability
The Tecno F3 has now been released to shops and stores nationwide. Depending on your location and vendor, you should not be charged more than #25,000 naira – #27,000 naira.
That agrees with the price point of between $89 – $90 that was provided for the POP 1 as at the time of launch. Note that the price calculations are based on values obtained from the current exchange rate.
