Tecno Spark 2 is coming soon. Pictures of the device has started to surface online and details has started to leak. We don’t know how soon the device or devices will hit the market but what we can say for sure is that it is coming.
Tecno will be hoping to repeat the success of Tecno Spark with Spark 2. The two Tenco Sparks (K7 and K9) literally lit up the smartphone market last year as they ranked among the top selling smartphones in Africa for the year 2017.
Nothing much has been revealed about the Spark 2 but speculations point to two variants just like we saw with the soon-to-be-dethroned Sparks. Some of the information we gathered suggest that the Spark 2 will feature face unlock, 6-inch display and the trending 18:9 aspect ratio.
The new Spark is also rumored to be coming with Android 8.1 Oreo. According to speculations, the standard version will feature 1 GB RAM and Android Oreo (Go Edition) while the Pro/Plus version will sport 2 GB RAM and will run the traditional Tecno HiOS UI on top of Android 8.1 Oreo.
The front facing camera, which will have face unlock feature, is expected to be 8MP and will have a dual-flash setup and the inclusion of software-induced portrait mode.
The leaked picture of the Tecno Spark 2 reveals that the device will feature fingerprint scanner as well.
Other specs you can expect with the device include:
- MediaTek MT6580WP SoC with Quard-core processor
- 13MP primary camera and
- 3500 mAh battery.
We expect the Tecno Spark 2 to be launched this Q2 and we also expect it to retail around the same price as the Tecno Spark. We will keep you posted as we gather more information regarding the Spark 2
