Tecno Mobile has, on the 8th of June, taken the veils off their latest addition to the Spark family – Tecno Spark 2 at an event in Lagos, Nigeria. It has been barely a year or thereabout since the first Tecno Spark smartphones, Tecno Spark K7 and Tecno Spark Plus K9 were unveiled.
The Spark 2 wasn’t much anticipated but it is very much expected to tick the boxes that were left out by the earlier version, Tecno Spark.
Tecno Spark 2 Specifications
The new Spark device sports a bigger screen size of 6.0 inches and comes with HD+ display and the 18:9 aspect ratio. It’s display resolution is at 720 by 1440 pixels with 320 PPI.
On the inside is the same Quad-core 1.3 GHz processor we saw on Spark K7 and a Mediatek MT6580 chipset. Tecno Spark 2 comes in two different versions; 16GB ROM and 2GB RAM version and the one with 1GB RAM and 16GB ROM. They both have external storage option that can carry up to 32GB via microSD card.
The new Spark 2 uses a 13 megapixels rear camera with a single LED flash for adequate lighting, the front panel hosts an 8 megapixels shutter that also comes with LED flash. The front camera also serves as Face ID unlock system for the device, giving it an additional security option.
Android 8.1 Oreo is pre-installed on the Tecno Spark 2 with the HiOS v3.3.0. The device houses a non-removable 3500 mAh battery that doesn’t support quick charge technology. 4G network option is also absent on the new Spark 2 smartphone.
