Yandex is a Russian internet company and search giant. However, right now, the company seems to be interested in doing more than just that. They have dabbled into smart speakers and self-driving cars. Now, Yandex has released its first smartphone, called the Yandex Phone. This phone will be sold in Russia, complete with maps, weather, and GPS apps from Yandex.
The entry-level phone runs Android 8.1, and not the latest Android 9. It comes with Alice, a form of virtual assistant launched by the Russian search giant in October last year.
Having a notchless 5.65-inch screen with a resolution of 2160 x 1080 pixels, the Yandex Phone comes with fairly standard specs. It has 4GB or RAM and 64GB of internal storage. The phone has a headphone jack and a USB-C port. It is powered by the Snapdragon 630 SoC as seen in the Nokia 7.
As with many phones of 2018, the Yandex phone comes with a dual camera setup on the rear with 16MP + 5MP shooters. On the front sits a 5MP camera for selfie lovers.
The Yandex Phone comes with an MSRP of 17,990 Rubles (about 98,000 Naira).
