Xiaomi caught plagiarising LG’s artwork for its Spanish website

Xiaomi is no stranger to controversies about following or copying another company’s designs and strategies. In fact, they have admitted to copying Apple for a while even though they have now grown out of that phase.

However, it seems they have now found a new niche in stealing concepts from artists without permissions.

The company took the work of a 3D artist and tweaked it for their Spanish page. Belonging to Peter Tarka, the amazing thing is that this work was commissioned by LG – amounting to stealing from the competition while plagiarising in the process.

The image has since been taken down from the internet, but not before some keen observers saw what the company had been doing behind closed doors. This speaks badly for a company that is no longer in its baby stages, and such infractions might not be allowed to go down without much noise from the offended party in the future.
