Since the launch of Android 9 Pie earlier this year, not many phones have started running it. However, gradually, we have started seeing this latest version of the Android OS on a number of devices. Some of the compatible devices from companies like HMD, Sony and OnePlus have gotten the Android 9 Pie update.
Xiaomi is not left behind in this update movement as the company has started rolling out the Android 9 Pie update in beta to the Mi A2, the company’s second Android One phone. The Mi A2 was launched earlier this year, and this new update for it comes with November security patch which comes with general bug fixes and other improvements.
Xiaomi has not yet officially announced the Android 9 Pie update for the Mi A2, but considering the fact that it has already started rolling out the beta, we expect that official launch of the global update will be coming up very soon.
When the Xiaomi Mi A2 eventually gets the official update, it will come with features that include adaptive battery and brightness options, navigation gestures, slices, Digital Wellbeing, a new accessibility menu, a new screenshot shortcut, and improved security features.
Even without the Android Pie update, the Mi A2 has already received a lot of praise about its bloatware-free software. The device currently runs a stock version of Android 8.1 out-of-the-box, and the Pie update is expected to further improve the user experience.
